Tallest Trees
Tallest Trees is comprised of Thomas Samuel and Dabney Morris, a.k.a. Trees and Voice. They met in Nashville, TN while playing in the local independent music scene. Becoming increasingly bored with
conventional pop and rock, they began collaborating and experimenting on a variety of projects, including the often string-accompanied Human Voice and the original nine-piece incarnation of Tallest Trees,
which eventually lead to the certain chemistry and specific sound that is Tallest Trees today. Recording mostly in the dining room of a log cabin in East Nashville and Trees’ basement apartment, their
studio work has grown to sonically epic proportions, both rhythmically and melodically dense. Skirting the edges of genres, and seamlessly combining electronic and acoustic elements, Tallest Trees
has managed to find a sound that is inventive yet familiar, and, while building sounds and melodies that instantly stick, are able to present their music in a way that makes one feel as if the whole
thing could come crashing down at any moment.
